Q:
i am using a password protected directory for my web page. I have a login
page and if login is valid i redirect the user using - print "Location:
http://username:password@mysite" . but the problem is that the
username:password also appears on the address bar? how can i hide it or
not let it appear on my address bar? or is there another way of letting my
user access my page? Also i came across a site that redirects the user to
its login page everytime a user access its protected directory or file,
how do i achieve this?? by the iam using perl/cgi in linux mandrake.

thanx!!!!
A:
When you submit username and password in a form that is form data handled
by the program. Why do not you just let the client to enter the username
and password into the basic authentication window?
