CGI scripting problem for web based form

Date: 2002/05/08 09:31

Q:
My windows 2000 server can apparently only send mail to an e-mail address
on the same domain(?)
My problem is that the CGI form I am using - BNBFORM All-In-One Form
Processing Script - is configured to send a 'Thank you' e-mail to the
person who filled out the form using an address that they give in a form
field. This causes an error in processing the script.

What I would like to do is take the script out of the cgi that sends the
thank you e-mail, but I am not actualy a programmer. I have included the
script below - if you would be able to edit it so that it does everything
except send a 'Thank you' e-mail that would be fantastic and a big help Thank you

A:
This is *most probably* the issue with the mail server
smtp.ptcruiserclub.co.uk

This mail server does not accept from the machine, where the script is
running mails to be sent outside of the domain. This is (again *most
probably*) not an error or misconfiguration but rather a security setting.
Mail servers (SMTP servers) are configured very strict. Sloppy configured
mail servers are automatically discovered by spammers, abused and this
causes the mail servers appearing on black-list and thus blocked out of
mailing for a long time, which means not being able to send mail to
anywhere.

Ask the system manager of the server smtp.ptcruiserclub.co.uk

regards,
Peter
