Online Card Shop

Q:
Peter,

Hello. I'm pretty good with computers and programs but this particular
one has me stumped. (cgi-bin). I see most card sites are using this and
I really don't know what it's for or how to get things to work. I design
all my pages/graphics and I'm familiar with using scripts and all.

Any help you can give me to help me set this up would be GREATLY
appreciated.

My server is using NT and I use FP2002 for my webdesign, Win 98

what is that most card sites are using?

Peter
Q:
Here is a link to a site that has e-cards:
http://www.whimsycreek.com/cards/A1general.html

Here is a site that has the code:
http://www.bignosebird.com/carchive/cardcgi.shtml but I'm not sure how to
"install" it.

Features

SOCKET based e-mail for cross-platform execution.
Easy to install, and to customize!
E-mails the recipient.
User defined text and background colors.
Complete script in one source code file.
Midi file support
E-mail capture log
Handles multiple card pages from one script
Automatically purges old cards based on age
Allows selection of background image
After moving this tar (tape archive) file to a temp directory, issue the
command:

tar xvf cardcgi.tar

Sorry, but this is greek to me... but I will get this down, I'm
determined.

Thanks,

A:
tar just unpacks the several files that are contained by the cardcgi.tar
archive file into a directory. The directory will contain a README or
INSTALL file that will explain what to do.

regards,
Peter
