error sending perl form to particular email address

Date: 2002/05/28 10:23

Q:
Hi Peter,

I appreciate your willingness to help.

I'm having trouble with a perl "form" that a friend set up for me. I'm a
"budget" web designer and have used this script happily in many sites
however it is having trouble sending to a reasonably(?) long email
address:
cath@girlpowerpersonnel.com.au - basically no completed form gets through
to this address, it works fine pointed at any of mine. I get an error
message reading: "This is the Postfix program at host
mail.dedicatedhosting.com.au.

I'm sorry to have to inform you that the message returned
below could not be delivered to one or more destinations.

For further assistance, please send mail to <postmaster>

If you do so, please include this problem report. You can
delete your own text from the message returned below.

The Postfix program

<cath@girlpowerpersonnel.com.au>: Name service error for domain
girlpowerpersonnel.com.au: Host not found"

Dedicated hosting is my hosting service provider.
The file on the server is "dform.pl".

Anyhoo,

if you can suggest something please let me know.

cheers

A:
Dear Simon,

the issue is that the eMail address, according to the error message is not
valid. There is no such email address

cath@girlpowerpersonnel.com.au

What is more there is no email address that starts with any name and ends
with the

@girlpowerpersonnel.com.au

ending. This is at least that the mailer (and not the script) says. The
program postfix is a mailer progra, which is widely used. There can be two
possibilities:

1. The email address is invalid.
2. The postfix program has to be configured with alternate DNS servers to
be used, when the primary is not reachable.

regards,
Peter
